WAJE – Words Aren’t Just Enough

Waje is a phenomenon. An up and coming A-list artist, an incredible songstress whose vocal range covers three octaves. Waje was discovered singing in church. An industrious young lady whom even while in school worked part time in tourism. Her love for humanity drove her towards studying social work in the university which eventually resulted in her over seeing the day to day running of a primary school in Eastern Nigeria. All this she did whilst never losing focus of her main passion, Music.

In 2005, she decided to take a chance and launched fully into the music industry where she paid her dues by doing free shows and singing at every opportunity and this has resulted in her being featured on the massive hit track across Africa, “Do Me” by Psquare, this has also resulted in her being the first runner up on “Advance Warning” (a reality singing competition show which featured artists that are upward and on the verge of break through) by MTV base South Africa.

She has performed with the phenomenal Wyclef Jean on stage in South Africa, and opened for Kerry Hilson in Calabar,Nigeria.
Waje was one of the nominees for best female vocals by Hip hop world
awards Nigeria 2009.

She has an awsome Neo-Soul/R&B single “Somewhere” on heavy rotation in England and all over Africa .The streets are abuzz with the brand new single she has out now “KOLO” which caught major appeal when she performed it on the final “Advance Warning” show, and a big Pop hit which got her nominated for best new video nmva and best new act dynamics award all in 2009
Waje has worked with a lot of the major artists including  Banky W,Eldee, ILL Bliss,Omawumi  and several others.

Waje is easily one of
the most sort after artists for collabos in the Nigerian music industry. She recently performed on stage in the first musical play in
Nigeria “Olorumbi”.   Her debut 12 track album WAJE (“Words Aren’t Just Enough”) is due out  2010.
Her name is easily becoming a strong brand here in Nigeria and she is regarded as the queen of R&B/POP with a tremendous amount of fan base and evangelists.

As she climbs the ladder of success, she stays grounded by mentoring up and coming singers and at every given opportunity proving her love for music and her country. Even though a lot of people only see the bad things about Nigeria, WAJE still talks about its positivity- “People say a lot of negative stuff about Nigeria but indeed this country has produced a lot of youth who are making us proud and representing Africa no matter the circumstances” .

Below are few tracks off  her album..
