I would like to introduce you to, Jimi Daodu,  a graduate student, doing his masters in Msc computer science at the university of Bristol, UK.
The talent behind the new, up and coming shoe  line ‘JimmyD.’ Jimi tells us  where he got the idea of JimmyD shoes, his inspiration behind the brand and so much more….

Background 
 The Gentleman’s collection at JimmyD is comprised of our signature slippers, in a variety of fabrics. From rich velvets with a wide array of exquisite embroideries, to our classic needlepoint, these slippers are the perfect finishing touch to any man’s ensemble.
Our classic slipper will take you from day into evening, from lunch at the club to a stroll down the avenue or to a black tie affair. We at JimmyD understand your busy lifestyle and have created a slipper that meets all your needs.
 

Inspiration 

Hmmmm, it goes back to the last election period in 2007, i was on one if my Dad’s friends campaign team and we were talking about customized items and how to reach various categories of audience. During this, several ideas/opinions came about, from posters to handbills to family attire known in yoruba as  ‘aso ebi’. Then i thought why cant we have customized shoes in the name of the campaign and the logo and Boom that was where the idea came about, but at the time i had little or no capital to start. 

                                                                                  The Name 

During my undergraduate days at Babcock University, i was fondly called Jimi Dee,because of my 1st and last name. Then i thought of starting my own brand, i felt it will be easy for people to recognize you with a name, more so when you already have a popular one…lool. So that’s how the name JimmyD came about.

The Designs 

JimmyD shoes are customised shoes, they attach the personality of their owners to the footwear. I do a few designs but always encourage the owner of the shoe to come up with theirs, that way its gives the bespoke shoe more originality to the owner.
